Hanging a wreath on your front door is a nice way to welcome your guests and give your home an inviting touch.  A wreath can add your own personality to the front of your home and can add nice curb appeal.

Figuring out how to hang a wreath on your door can be a challenge. Because of the thickness of some doors, over the door hangers prevent some doors from shutting properly. Wreath hangers can also scratch the wood or paint on your door. In the past, I have tried a few different ways to hang my wreath but this is my favorite way to hang a wreath on my door.

Materials needed:

  • Wreath
  • Ribbon
  • Command hooks
  • Step ladder
  • Scissors

How To Hang The Wreath

It may be helpful to have someone help you, however, I usually do it myself. I open my door and place my step ladder so I can reach both the front and back side of the door.

  1. Hang the command hook upside down centered on the interior side of your door. You may want to clean the area where you will be attaching the command hook for it to adhere better. Use a basic cleaner and let it dry.
  2. Loop the ribbon through your wreath.
  3. Hold your wreath where you want it placed on your door to see how much ribbon you will need, and allow enough ribbon for a bow to be tied where the hook is. I usually cut a little extra just in case.
  4. Tie a knot on the hook and then tie a bow.
  5. Trim the ends of the ribbon to the length of your liking

I love the seamless look the ribbon gives. I leave the hook in place all year which makes it super easy to switch out my door decor. wreath ribbon door
